Day17 02Mar25 - Visiting Friends in Pompano Beach

Sunday we got up early, we were at a KOA so June did laundry while I packed up.  We were done and on the road by 0900 and headed south again to visit Bruce and Melissa in Pompano Beach.

It was a rather uneventful drive with the exception of one incident when we were swarmed by idiots on crotch rockets, I just can't believe there wasn't a wreck.  They were zipping in and out of lanes that were moving at 70mph, it was just crazy.  Motorcycle Nuts

We arrived at Pompano Beach around 1045.

Our friends had done some research on the length of the Serenity Falcon and poached a guest spot for us to park at their condo, it was snug but we fit.

Melissa and Bruce's place is pretty spectacular, on the 7th floor with nice views of the ocean.

We took a short walk to the Deep Oceanfront restaurant for Brunch. I had a pancake taco, pretty darn good.

After lunch we walked the beach some and chillaxed by the pool some.

After the pool we walked to the Pompano Pier, which is the happening place. There is lots of activity and fishing on the pier.

There are pelicans just hanging around the pier looking for a snack.

After our walk we ordered dinner from the Mora Grill, it was excellent. We searched for a place to get a good Key Lime pie to deliver to Tom....

We decided on a place near the pier, so June and I walked back  that way, it was a different experience after dark. Lots of people were grilling and even though I just ate, the smells made me hungry. We had to wait a bit for our pie so we walked back out onto the pier, some guy had hooked a shark about 7 ft long and it was a shit show.  He was trying to land it to take out the hook but moving down the dock cutting other peoples lines.  We left before he landed it but it was a spectacle.

The views at night from the pier are pretty spectacular.

We secured our booty and headed back to the condo.

We ended the evening getting sleepy watching the Oscars, it was a good day.

The sunrises at Pompano Beach do not suck.

Monday we will start our trek north, we plan to stop in Orlando and visit a few friends and relatives.

  1. Pompano Beach is very nice, no wonder Bruce and Melissa like it here. It was fun catching up with them; we have to travel to Florida to see our Vermont friends. 😃
